Na Casa de Bambu 44 - Em Francês

 

É conhecido como o Síndrome de Paris, e a sua validade é ainda fonte de discussão. Mas é verdade que um conjunto anormal de turistas japoneses na capital francesa experienciam um conjunto de sintomas que vão desde as alucinações delirantes às tonturas e taquicardias. 

Inspirados por este quebra-gelo bizarro, sugerimos uma sessão de temas synth pop e new wave japonesa cantada em francês, ou inspirada na cultura francesa. Temos turistas recorrentes como os Dip in the Pool ou Miharu Koshi, aqui com um tema escrito pelos Telex, mas também uma belíssima canção de Sonoko e do duo de punk pseudo-infantil Luna.

Known as Paris Syndrome, the phenomenon remains controversial. Yet an unusually high number of Japanese visitors to the French capital have reported symptoms ranging from dizziness and rapid heartbeat to hallucinations and delusions. Inspired by this curious icebreaker, we present a selection of Japanese synth-pop and new wave sung in French—or inspired by French culture. Familiar favourites include Dip in the Pool and Miharu Koshi, here performing a song written by Telex, alongside a beautiful track by Sonoko and the delightfully pseudo-childish punk duo Luna.

Seleção de synth minimal japonês dos anos 80, com muita contribuição da malta da Vanity Records, mas também de gente como Yann Tomita e Osamu Sato. Destaque da semana para Boku Neko Platanus, um belo e muito geek disco de Shinichi Omata gravado em 1984 e reeditado pela chOOn.

A selection of Japanese minimal synth from the 1980s! Featuring major contributions from the Vanity Records crowd alongside artists such as Yann Tomita and Osamu Sato. This week's highlight is Boku Neko Platanus, a charmingly geeky album by Shinichi Omata, recorded in 1984 and recently reissued by chOOn.

Uma hora de alguma new wave, muito pós-punk e uma dose bem saudável de rock progressivo. Destacamos a fortíssima abertura pelos veteranos do prog Negasphere e as duas bizarras faixas retiradas da compilação Infecund Infection, da também bizarra Pinakotheca Records.

An hour of new wave, plenty of post-punk, and a healthy dose of progressive rock. Highlights would include a powerful opening track by prog masters Negasphere, and the two bizarre tracks taken from the Infecund Infection compilation, released by the equally bizarre Pinakotheca Records.

Para hoje preparámos uma pequena seleção tecno-pop, nome para a synth-pop no Japão. Para além dos inevitáveis YMO, em esforços próprios e produções Techno Kayō para Chiemi Manabe ou Kaori Nakahara; temos também o punk ultra infantil dos Kidorikko e a magia synth do segundo disco de Logic System, projeto de Hideki Matsutake. 

We prepared a small selection of techno-pop, what synth-pop is usually called in Japan. Besides the inevitable YMO (in their solo efforts and Techno Kayō productions for Chiemi Manabe or Kaori Nakahara), we also have the ultra-childish punk of Kidorikko and the synth magic of Logic System (Hideki Matsutake)'s second album's project.

Nesta sessão passámos uma seleção de pop alternativa, com alguns dos meus temas favoritos de gente como os Oshare Tv, os Date of Birth e a heroína da casa Mishio Ogawa. Destaque para a abertura por Yasuaki "Mariah" Shimizu, e os dois temas de The Paloma Show, um belo disco do dúo Salon Music. Pelo meio, um adeus a Yotaro Ito, mentor dos Metrofarce.

We played a selection of alternative pop, featuring some of my favourite tracks by acts like Oshare Tv, Date of Birth, and "friend of the show" Mishio Ogawa. Special mention to the opening track by Yasuaki Shimizu, as well as the two songs we picked from The Paloma Show, a beautiful record by the duo Salom Music. We also find some time to say goodbye to Yotaro Ito, mentor of Metrofarce.

Esta semana temos seleção de City Pop bem disposta e synth pop temperamental. Destacamos bons exemplos de programações de Hideki Matsutake, um nome essencial na pop japonesa, que é mais que o "quarto elemento" dos YMO.
